There are so many definitions of what blogging is all about on the internet and so I'm going to define it in this manner.
Blogging is writing that is intended to be posted on the internet, to be accessible to all. Not just in a particular country but all over the world. Now you get the gist. You should also know that blogging takes patience. It's not a Hurry affair yea I know you must have heard people say " people are making thousands of dollars for just blogging alone". It's not as easy as you think. I'm a blogger too and I just started two months ago and yet to make money. It takes patience. Can even take you up to a year before making your first 48 dollars. Hmmmm, you just did that.
Listen. Money shouldn't be your first priority when it comes to blogging. Your mission to blog is to help people know what they need to know which they don't know by writing. Money will come In handy. ahhhh Bomaaaaaaaa. Did i hear you halIa that? Hmmmm.
Before you start blogging, you need to ask yourself what you love most, what you are passionate about. Yea I know you may say I have passion for teaching. It's cool and so if it is teaching you have passion for, what do you want to teach about? Who do you want to teach? Cows? Dogs? hehehe. Hey im joking but I guess you are learning already. Good! or maybe there is something about the social world you have interest in and you deem it fit to share. Great!
Let me disabuse your mind a little. Passion isn't everything. You need to swallow that. Now I'm giggling. That's a fact. Let me say it again. Passion isn't everything. But hey, don't get me wrong: your passion is very important though it may not help you decide what idea to chase most times.
Let's talk about talents. You might call it skill.
What natural talents do you have? Playing musical instruments like me, playing football, dancing, ahhhh I love travelling. Travelling might be a natural skill or talent you have or maybe you have flare for drawing and painting. I'm not a great dancer but you might be a very good dancer.
Now let's commence blogging.
You might be an amateur in all what i have listed above like me I am an amateur in blogging but I'm writing on the Unconventional guide to blogging as a teacher. Are you surprised?
Right now, I want you to take a sheet of paper and write down everything you know you are good at, a story about how you started dancing like Beyonce from been an amateur dancer, how you travelled to another location from where you at and on your way you were hit by a palm tree. You can be creative. Blogging has commenced.
What kind of blogger do you want to be?
A personal blogger, A freelance blogger, An affiliate blogger, media blogger? The list is endless but you have to decide on one. I'm going to define the ones I 've listed.
A personal blogger
A personal blogger writes about observations, opinions, personal experiences, and having links and images to other websites like me though no links yet.
A freelance blogger
A freelance blogger works as a writer, performer or sells services by time without personal attachment to a company.
An affiliate blogger
An affiliate blogger can also be likened to an affiliate marketer earning commission by promoting other people's product by generating traffic to their products and services. Jumia for example.
Media blogger
A media blogger blogs about what goes on social media. The good, the bad and the ugly. Remember Linda Ikeji.
There is no competition in blogging as everyone has something to give.
Based on reality check, blogging can be a bitch if you have no rules to follow. When you’re figuring it out on your own with no one to guide you, oh my damn it can be total mind fuckery. Think about it.

The blog platform to use.
The platform I'm using right now is blogger though there are other blogging platforms like WordPress, tumblr, ghost, win etc but why I'm using blogger is because it is a free blog host and simply a learning tool to write about anything effectively But don't hope on getting enough money yet because the price for setting up your own blog on blogger will not reap the rewards of all your hard work later. That's the fact. Nothing is free. You might go with the option of using blogger since it is free but remember you are building up a web property for some other company instead of building your own empire.
From what i 've observed about blogging or any other venture online, there is a difference between http://grade15business.blogspot.com.ng which is my website and http://grade15business.com. I guess you can spot the difference.
I don't know of any best platform to use but if I'm to start building my empire, hey its not like I have not started already; I 'll go for WordPress.org. It isn't free. You have to pay for it. I advice you also go for it.
Let me expanciate on blogger a little bit.
Blogger is a blog-publishing service that allows multi-user blogs with time-stamped entries. It was developed by Pyra Labs, which was bought by Google in 2003. Generally, the blogs are hosted by Google at a subdomain of blogspot.com. - Wikipedia.
Below is the working environment of blogger. Not very clear but just to show you how it looks like.

Listen. There is a difference between domain name hosting and subdomain name.
According to hostgator, a subdomain is a second website, with its own unique content, but there is no new domain name. Instead, you use an existing domain name and change the www to another name. The subdomain name looks like forums.domain.com, help.domain.com, help2.domain.com (assuming you already host domain.com).
Domain name hosting -Domain hosting refers to businesses that specialize in hosting domain names for individuals and companies. Domain names are used in URLs to identify particular Web pages. Example: hostgator, blue host etc.
When you own your land and your house, you can do anything you want with it. The same works for your blog. If you own your domain and put enough time into working on your blog and content, you can change it at any time without you been restricted. You are in control of everything that happens On that property. Understand that there might be clauses in your service agreements that often make some paid blogging platforms to shut you down if you violate their terms of service in anyway because a free blog host and that often give them the rights to your pictures and intellectual property. Don't put yourself in that position if you want to have a blog that makes money for you.
You can have a domain name, blog hosting and an awesome blogging CMS (publishing system) that has the ability to sustain a full time income for you for just $5.
Happy blogging.....
